Can science and faith co-exist?

"Did you know that our the Council of Bishop's of the United Methodist church sent out a statement to clergy that we are not able to write any religious exemption letters for those who don't want to get vaccinated? So, while you may opt-out of getting a COVID vaccine for a variety of reasons, being United Methodist doesn't qualify you to pass on the shot(s). This does bring up an interesting topic though. What happens with our faith and science collide? Do we have to choose sides? Does one win out?
